Abstract
Cloud computing, the long-held dream of computing as a utility has the potential to transform a large part of the IT industry, making software even more attractive as a service and shaping the way in which hardware is designed and purchased. Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. The resource and scheduling allocation problem in a nature of NP-complete, which requiring the development of heuristic techniques to solve the resource allocation problem in a cloud computing environment. In this paper begins with a general introduction of cloud computing, followed by a discussion of heuristic task scheduling models.
